SAP

Formed starting in the summer of 1944, the SAP was created to broaden popular participation in the struggle and initially carried out sabotage actions, flanking GAP and partisan brigades. In Modena, after a few months of activity, even the SAPs carried out increasingly risky actions, to the point that it isn’t often possible to distinguish them, on an operational level, from the GAPs. In the spring of 1945, the two structures were unified into the partisan brigades of the plain.
