Rationing

Assignment to each citizen a fixed ration of food or daily use items (such as soap), to regulate consumption according to local needs, determined for example by the number of citizens residing in each municipality. The quantities of products allowed depended on the category of belonging (children, sick people, industrial workers, etc.) according to various needs. The system aroused many protests for the non-compliance with the minimum standards required, which were continually lowered during the war years.
