Arrigo Boldrini

Anti-fascist militant coming from Ravenna, after September 8th, 1943, he was one of the main organizers of the partisan movement in Romagna. His battle name was “Bulow” due to his strategic skills, in memory of the famous Count Friedrich Wilhelm von Bülow. He took part in many partisans’ actions, also as CUMER liaison officer and he became commander of the 28th Garibaldi Brigade “Mario Gordini”. Boldrini was decorated with the Gold Medal for Military Valor on February 4th, 1945, by General Richard McCreery, commander of the Allied VIII Army, for his skills and ability demonstrated in organizing operations for the liberation of Ravenna, which took place on December 4th, 1944.
