AMGOT

Military corps created by the United Nations to administrate territories occupied by Anglo-Americans. In Italy, it was created on July 10^th, 1943, in the South of the country, after its conquest. It was helpful for guaranteeing the security of the occupying forces and the communication routes and to implement an aid policy to the civilians, ensuring the best use of economic resources of occupied areas. However, relations with the population were not always easy.
